Minimally Invasive Surgery
WestVet Surgeons have undergone advanced training to offer less invasive surgical options, including arthroscopy, laparoscopy, and thoracoscopy. These therapies are meant to reduce operative pain, improve visualization and better patient outcomes.
Additionally, we use advanced imaging such as fluoroscopy to place orthopedic implants through tiny incisions in the skin. Similarly, advanced imaging is used in interventional procedures for stent placement in the tracheal, urethra, and ureters.
Cutting Edge Therapies
WestVet surgeons offer state-of-the-art therapies including cartilage grafting (OATS), regenerative medicine (platelet rich plasma, stem cell therapy), joint replacement, interventional procedures. Additionally, because assuring your pet’s safety and comfort is a top priority, we utilize advanced patient monitoring with modern anesthetics to limit patient risk and provide a variety of pain management techniques, including:
- continuous rate intravenous infusions of pain medications
- epidural anesthesia
- local anesthetic nerve blocks
- oral medications

After surgery, we provide 24-hour care, to ensure recovering pets can have IV fluid support, tailored pain protocols, and any other follow up care as appropriate for their condition.
